about us

IT'S ALL ABOUT FAMILY

We are a small group of farmers, but we want to build the gold standard in restaurant beef and will support our brand in as personal a manner as possible. This is about relationships with other craft-food manufacturers, restauranteurs, chefs, and those that simply care about where their food comes from and how it is made. It's also about surrounding ourselves with Canadian traditions and values - friendly, transparent, innovative and safe - all of the things that are hallmarks of how the rest of the world sees us.

FROM OUR RANGE TO YOURS

The tradition of family farming in Canada has roots that dig deep into the soil, tracing back to the early settlers who established homesteads and began raising cattle as a means of sustenance and livelihood. This profound connection still exists today thanks to the efforts of three ranching families in Alberta and Saskatchewan who make up our team. we have united to share this important Canadian made breed and the amazing beef that comes from it with the world. With generations of ranching know-how and a commitment to humane farming practices, our intention is to deliver a craft-meat to those that want to taste the difference.

To us, beef is a craft.

It is a result of the land, air and water, but also the people that steward those things. Ranchers that know how to balance the happiness of their animals with the spaces they live in. Most of all, we believe that craft beef is our outlet to show our passion for agriculture, and we love the idea that you can taste this in our products!

At the heart of Speckle Park Reserve lies three dedicated families, each rooted in the timeless tradition of family farming.

United by a common passion for responsible agriculture and a profound connection to the land, these 3 families bring a wealth of generational knowledge and unwavering dedication to their craft.

"From our range to yours, we thank you for your purchase and your support of craft-made foods."

JANICE & ROB HARASYMCHUK

INC Cattle Company Ltd

Saskatchewan

For generations, the family has raised cattle in Saskatchewan's hill country, dating back to the early 1900s, with the same goal: to raise the best possible stock.

In 2015, INC Cattle Company introduced the first Speckle Park females into its program and has continued to build from there. INC is highly selective, ensuring only the top cattle meet their high standards. Believing strongly in the breed, they are committed to its ongoing evolution and improvement.

INC hosts two annual sales: "The Big Chill" in December and "The Leading Edge" in April. Their show program has earned prestigious titles, including Grand Champion Speckle Park Bull & Female at the Cattleman’s Congress in Oklahoma.

KEN FRIESEN

KFC Farms Ltd.

Didsbury, AB

Ken was raised on a mixed farm in British Columbia's Fraser Valley, where he developed a strong passion for farming, especially raising beef. As a 4H beef club member for 10 years and later a leader for another decade, he focused on carcass merit, both in his projects and in those of his sons.

In 2002, Ken's beef operation expanded to central BC, initially raising purebred Angus cattle. As carcass evaluations progressed, changes were made to meet evolving consumer and chef demands.

In 2017, Ken established a Speckle Park operation in Didsbury, Alberta, inspired by the breed’s success in carcass competitions. Positive feedback from graders and butchers confirmed the breed's high grading and quality. With growing demand, Ken expanded the herd, selling breeding stock both locally and internationally. He retains steers for finishing, and the consistent praise for beef quality has fueled ongoing business growth.
